Hopewell man arrested after pointing rifle at deputies

On 1/17/2017 at approximately 2234 hours, Cleburne County deputies were dispatched to a residence in Hopewell in reference to a suicidal subject.  When deputies arrived, they located a male in the wood-line carrying a rifle, a pistol, and dressed in tactical gear.  The male was initially uncompliant and pointed the rifle at deputies. Deputies fired two rounds of pepper spray, which both contacted the subject.  The male complied and was taken into custody without further incident.  He was transported to the Cleburne County Jail where he was booked in on charges of Aggravated Assault.
