On 2-6-2017, Cleburne County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a traffic violation on Heber Springs Road South.  Deputies made a traffic stop on the vehicle. The deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The deputies recognized one of the passenger’s as a wanted person out of the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office.  The deputies then attempted to effect an arrest on the person, who in turn attempted to flee the scene. The wanted person then fought with deputies as they were taking him into custody. One of the deputies deployed pepper spray onto the subject, which lead to the subject’s compliance. The subject was then taken into custody and processed into the jail on an outstanding warrant and was also charged with resisting arrest.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
