Man Arrested After Investigation of Wilburn Area Breaking and Entering

On February 2nd, 2017, Cleburne County deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area of Dry Mountain Road to take a breaking and entering report. The victim reported that an unknown suspect entered his property by cutting a lock on a gate and then forced entry into the residence by prying open the back door.  The victim also reported that the suspect(s) appeared to have spent the night in the residence.  Several items were reported stolen, in addition to some damage being done around the house.  Total loss was estimated at $1050.  During the investigation, Darren Knapp was developed as a suspect, and on February 27, 2017, he was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering, Theft of Property, and Criminal Mischief.  Several of the stolen items were also recovered.

 

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
