Multiple investigations result in arrests

On December 20, 2016, the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a local doctor’s office regarding some fraudulent prescriptions.  It was reported that a nurse that was employed at the doctor’s office had been writing fraudulent prescriptions.  During the course of the investigation, Nikki Calhoun, a nurse in the doctor’s office, was identified as a suspect, and brought in for questioning on January 24, 2017.  On March 6, 2017, an affidavit for a warrant was completed, and Nikki was arrested, and charged with 23 counts of Prescription Fraud to Obtain a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

On March 4, 2017, Cleburne County Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Miller Point Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident.  When deputies arrived, they were met by a man holding a knife, who was yelling and cursing.  After a brief interaction, the male put the knife down, and was taken into custody.  The male was identified as Charles Smith.  Charles was transported back to the accident scene by deputies, where the male complained about his handcuffs being too tight.  When deputies attempted to check the handcuffs, Charles became aggressive, and struck one of the deputies before attempting to flee.  Charles was apprehended a short distance away, and transported to the Cleburne County Jail.  He was charged with 2nd Degree Battery, 2nd Degree Escape, and Disorderly Conduct.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

On March 1, 2017, the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office received a report in regards to child pornography.  The report alleged that naked pictures of underage girls were being sent from one cell phone to another.  During the investigation, several photographs were obtained.  Jonathen Manek was developed as a suspect, and was subsequently arrested on March 15, 2017.  He was booked into the Cleburne County Jail on 11 counts of Distributing, Possessing, or Veiwing Matter Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct Involving a Child.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

On March 10, 2017, the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, along with the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, and the Heber Springs Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Engler Lane in Heber Springs.  During a search of the residence, several drug related items, as well as firearms, were located.  One of the firearms recovered had previously been reported stolen in a burglary report from Ida.  Two individuals were arrested as a result of the investigation:

Randall Decker, was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Deliver, and Maintaining a Drug Premises.

Ryan Decker, was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule IV or V Drugs with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Schedule VI Drugs with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Drug Premises.

The investigation is still ongoing.
