11/02/2017

On October 15, 2017 the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office took an animal cruelty complaint on Sager Road in West Pangburn.  It was reported that a man, identified as Jacob James, had allegedly taken possession of a rifle, and taken it to a neighbor’s house.  The complainant advised that he heard a few gunshots, and witnessed Jacob carry off a dog that appeared to be deceased.  It was also reported that the dog had puppies a few days before that, and that some of the puppies were missing, and another one was found deceased.  It was also discovered that Jacob had a previous felony conviction in the state of Arkansas.  On October 23, 2017, Jacob was arrested and booked into the Cleburne County Jail on four counts of Animal Cruelty, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
