Investigation Leads to Arrest for Drug Possession and Stolen Property

08/09/2018

Earlier in the year, the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office received information about illegal drugs being sold from a residence on South 5th Street in Heber Springs. Through the course of investigation, detectives from the sheriff’s office gathered enough evidence to acquire a search warrant of the premises. On July 31, 2018, the Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant, with the help of the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Heber Springs Police Department. The search resulted in the seizure of just over 2 ounces (approximately 60 grams) of methamphetamine, along with some drug paraphernalia and prescription pills. The search also lead to the recovery of several stolen guns. At the time of the search, Larry Taylor, age 39,  was taken into custody and later charged with the Felony Offenses of Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Maintaining a Drug Premises, and Theft by Receiving.

The investigation into Larry Taylor led detectives to believe that he was distributing approximately one pound of methamphetamine a month.
