National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day 4/27/19 10a-2p

04/25/2019

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

There is a drug take-back drop box in the lobby of the Cleburne County Jail, located at 914 South 9th Street, Heber Springs, AR, 72543. Or to find a drop box near you, visit: www.artakeback.org or www.dea.gov or call 800-882-9539
The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone who needs to dispose of expired or unneeded medications to take advantage of this opportunity (please do not bring liquids to deposit in the drop box – contact you local doctor or pharmacy for instructions on how to dispose of liquid medications).
