On November 7, 2023 the Sheriff's Office took a report of animal cruelty that occurred near Greers Ferry.  The complaint cited that several dogs had been shot, some of which had died, and some that were injured.  As a result of the investigation, Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for John Hunt, 62 of Greers Ferry. 

On November 16, 2023, Detectives and Deputies with the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office arrested and transported John to the Cleburne County Jail where he was booked in on 5 counts of Animal Cruelty.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
