Charges Filed Against Randy Higgs and Joshua Nelson

On October 17, 2011 Narcotics Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office presented an affidavit to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, charging Randy L. Higgs, age 21, of Heber Springs with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, a class C Felony.

The charges stem from a traffic stop conducted earlier this year by Sheriff Marty Moss.  At the time Sheriff Moss made the traffic stop he, along with several officers and Investigators were attempting to locate a fugitive believed to be at a residence on Pleasant Springs Road. Sheriff Moss stopped the vehicle after it was seen leaving the residence in question.

The fugitive being sought, 23 year old, Joshua Nelson of Drasco was also located and arrested following a foot pursuit. Nelson was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, along with Residential Burglary and Fleeing.
