Search Warrant Executed in Heber Springs

10/17/2011

On 10/4/2011 Narcotics Officers of the Cleburne County Sheriff, the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Heber Springs Police Department executed a search warrant at 515 Highway 110 East in Heber Springs.

Pyarali Sarfani , age 48, of Heber Springs was arrested and charged with Maintaining a Drug Premise, and three counts of Delivery of Synthetic Marijuana. Bond for Sarfani was set at $50,000.

The search warrant and subsequent arrest was a result of the Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing investigation of the distribution of both synthetic marijuana and a new class of Designer Drugs commonly known as “Bath Salts”. These “Bath Salts” are marketed under harmless-sounding names and should not to be confused with legitimate bath salts sold by a reputable company. They have become the newest trendy street drug and are considered to be comparable to methamphetamine, cocaine and PCP. Using “Bath Salts” can induce violent, aggressive behavior and makes users dangerous to themselves, law enforcement and to the public in general.
