On Friday, May 18, 2012 Investigators with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, the 16^th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Heber Springs Police Department, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Special Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations executed a federal search warrant at 1001 Blackoak Lane in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  The search was executed after a lengthy joint investigation by the previously described law enforcement agencies into the distribution of synthetic narcotics and synthetic stimulants, commonly referred to as “K2” and “bath salts,” by the occupants of 1001 Blackoak Lane. Arrested at the scene was Christopher Arnold Hogan, age 46.

Evidence collected at the scene include a firearm, a quantity of unidentified powder substance believed to be "bath salts," a quantity of several known cutting agents, and drug paraphernalia for the purpose of manufacturing and ingesting illegal narcotics.  Evidence seized has been submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for analysis. “Bath salts” are an analogue of a Schedule I controlled substance known as Pentedrone according to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.

Chris and Angelique Hogan are the residents at 1001 Blackoak Lane in Heber Springs. According to Court documents prior to his arrest on this date Chris Hogan was on bond  in a 2011 case currently pending in Cleburne County Circuit Court for the felony offenses of Maintaining a Drug Premises ACA 5-64-402, Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, to wit: bath salts ACA 5-64-204, and Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia ACA 5-64-403.  Hogan’s bond has been revoked in that case.

Also arrested in related cases were Jeremy Scott Allen for 2 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, to wit: bath salts ACA 5-64-426, and Eric Harlow for 1 count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, to wit: bath salts, and Zachary Cordell for 2 counts Delivery of a Controlled Substance, to wit: bath salts.
